Job Summary:

Responsible for the overseeing, upkeep, repair, and efficient functioning of all Guest House facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. Proactive approach to maintaining high operational standards. Ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for guests and staff.

Should have a positive personality, be service minded with a strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure if necessary.

Main duties will include the following:

• Maintaining of buildings, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, solar, refrigeration, gas heating and water systems

• Repairs and preventive maintenance on Guest House, communal areas, and facilities

• Inspect and maintaining the functioning of the inhouse pool, jacuzzi and water system

• Maintenance and servicing of vehicles, tractors, and 4x4s

• Respond to Guest House maintenance-related emergencies, including power outages, plumbing failures, and equipment breakdowns

• Be on stand-by for urgent repairs and problem-solving when required after hours

• Monitor and manage stock levels of maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts

• Ensure all tools and machinery are well-maintained and stored correctly

• Maintain logs of completed maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs

• Willing and able to relocate (Please note that relocation costs will be for your own expense should your application be successful)

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12

• Own vehicle and valid driver’s license required

• Sober habits

• Experience and sound knowledge in property and vehicle maintenance

• Strong eye for detail

• Hands-on, hardworking, mature, and good general handyman abilities

• Ability to interact well with staff

• Excellent all-rounder

• Fluency in English (with Afrikaans being beneficial)

• Excellent communication skills

• Capable of fitting in where necessary to ensure the operation runs smoothly and efficiently

• Good time management and reliability

Basic Salary & Benefits

• Monday – Friday (08:00 – 13:00)

• Saturday (08:00 – 13:00)

• Off day: Sunday
