Accelerate your career with Solidarity’s occupational networks!
Marné Pienaar
There is a familiar saying that goes: “It takes a village.” People usually use this when they refer to raising a family, but the principle applies to every aspect of life. Solidarity knows that we are stronger together and has created a platform where workers can come and learn together, be inspired and accelerate their careers. The occupational networks are a unique benefit that any Solidarity member has access to. Now it is your turn to use this benefit to your advantage!
What are occupational networks?
Solidarity’s occupational networks are a community of individuals in the workforce within a specific industry. This group of like-minded, hard-working people forms a network where you can learn from each other, share ideas, and most importantly, stay updated on the latest developments in your industry.
Who can join Solidarity’s occupational networks?

Real impact
Networking and job opportunities
The occupational networks often organise in-person networking events, especially for young workers, so that they can learn from the masters in their field. Many students or young workers have secured job opportunities by attending networking events such as these.
Protect your rights in the workplace
Solidarity believes that anyone who wants to work should be able to find work without being subjected to unfair racial laws but be appointed based on merit. However, our government still tries to push the narrative that Black Economic Empowerment will promote the growth and prosperity of South Africans, which has proven untrue. Solidarity fights against laws that will bring about more poverty for our people and protect the jobs of our members by standing up against laws such as the National Health Insurance Bill, or the Basic Education Laws Amendment (Bela) Bill.
